Latest Update!
January 13th
Just left my follow up appointment today to go over the pathology of my entire tumor and the results came back low grade. So I do not need to go through more chemo and I am considered cancer free!!!!I also want to take a moment to appreciate everything this amazing man has done for me through this and appreciate everything he will continue to do while I continue this journey awaiting a prosthetic and learning how to use the prosthetic. Never once did I imagine our life like this but we have gone through it together and have come out stronger. I love you so much Cody Powers thank you for everything.

Cancer update! Well I have been one legged for a week now! I got home from the hospital on Saturday night. Being home is definitely an adjustment from the hospital. But I am adjusting well and am starting to feel like myself. Cody Powers and I even ventured out of the house today and ate at sub shop! Overall things are going good. Plus my first appointment for a prosthetic has been made! It’s not until the beginning of March but at least I have a day to look forward to now.

Moving around today! While the pain is still pretty bad I have had a lot of success moving around. Pain management should be stopping in later today to try to come up with a plan. By the sounds of it once my pain is manageable I should be able to go home now that I have been able to move around on my own.

Leg has been amputated! Overall surgery went really well yesterday. It will be 4-6 weeks before I am healed enough to start physical therapy and up to three months to get fitted for a prosthetic. It is pretty painful but such a relief knowing the tumor is gone and can’t spread. The staff was really impressed with me because not even 24 hours after surgery I moved from the bed to a chair and back. Not going to lie though just that little movement was so hard and so painful, but I did it and got through it! Unsure of when I will be discharged, definitely hoping to be discharged tomorrow but I have to move 15 feet by myself before they can let me go home so we will see.

My phone gave me a picture memory of last year, and it made me realize how quickly your life can change. Never once did I expect a change like this. But even with this change and cancer update, I have fully accepted it and am still determined to be the badass woman I have become.
My leg pain has been getting worse recently so last week while I was in the hospital I requested to have an mri done to see if chemo is helping shrink the tumor. From that mri the measurements of my tumor are bigger but the doctors said they can’t necessarily say that it has grown because it isn’t a big enough difference. Chemo treatments have been super rough and the methotrexate is starting to affect my liver numbers. So because of all of this, I have chosen to stop pre-surgery chemo. Because the tumor did not shrink, surgery will be amputation which I have accepted and am okay with losing my leg. I will also still have to do chemo after surgery to make sure any microscopic cancer cells that could have spread are killed. My huge weight loss is one day is December 31st (leg amputation surgery day). So it really is a New Year new me and I don’t think anyone can top that If you made it this far I love you guys! And if you can’t tell, I have truly accepted this and am making jokes about it. Cody Powers even said we can go to IHOP for food after I am released from the hospital

Well here it is for those that don’t know I have been diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). It is only in my lower left leg and has not spread! I start chemo next week and my dr told me it’s a guarantee that I lose my hair so instead of losing it in clumps, I decided to buzz cut my hair! My absolutely biggest supporter and amazing husband went bald for me too I love you so much Cody Powers and we will get through this!
